Friday 30th May - walks **** – Staverton and Rendlesham Forest – sunny periods.

After 5 consecutive days windsurf foiling it was nice to have a day off as Friday is the day we have our Granddaughter, the lovely Maeva! I even had time to do my exercises in the sunny back garden and pack a picnic while Mag drives round to pick Maeva up! Being half term we wanted to go somewhere quiet so headed once again to Staverton Thicks to see the the pigs had babies, the traffic around Woodbridge was once again terrible, we defiantly are not keen on travelling these days! Maeva had only just dropped off to sleep by the time we parked so was not keen to walk so we did not go far, we sat and watched the pigs for a while as they laid in a large puddle but Maeva is not keen on being close the the pigs close-up and would rather see them in books! We had a quick look at the old oaks which don’t look so impressive while covered in their leaves! Then back to the van and we park in our usual spot in Butley Corner car park for out picnic lunch which was absolutely brilliant she is pure joy to be with and we had loads of fun with a bowl of water and a bottle of soap, just lots of laughs:) We then had a quick walk through the pine trees collecting cones before returning to the van and heading for home. We take the scenic country lane route to avoid the awful A 12 and A 14 with Maeva sleeping all the way back to Felixstowe, another top day with Maeva:)

PS - headed down to Felixstowe Dock view point to catch the sunset.
